Mastering the Handoff: When to Take Over from AI

July 15, 2025Customer Success Team

You've got a match. The conversation is flowing. WingAgent has warmed them up with 6 solid messages. Now, you get the notification: "High Chemistry Detected. Ready for Handoff."

What now?

1. Read the Context (The "Briefing")

Before you type a word, spend 30 seconds reading the "Match Briefing" in your dashboard. WingAgent summarizes why it thinks you'll get along (e.g., "You both love 90s hip hop and hiking"). Use this context.

Don't: Say "Hey" again.
Do: Pivot to the specific shared interest the AI identified.

2. The "Voice" Transition

WingAgent is trained on your voice, so the transition is usually seamless. But humans create typos; AI usually doesn't. If you're a lowercase typer, don't worry—authenticity wins.

A great way to take over is to acknowledge the flow: "I've been running around all day but just seeing this—I totally agree about..." This signals "I am present now."

3. Moving to the Real World

The AI's goal is conversation. Your goal is a date. Once you take over, your primary objective should be moving off the app.

Pro Tip: We find that asking for a date within 3-5 messages of taking over yields the highest success rate. The AI has built the trust; you cash it in for the meeting.

Use "Approval Mode" to Practice

If you're nervous about the handoff, switch your account to Approval Mode for a week. You'll see exactly what the AI would send, but you have to hit "Send." It's the best way to learn the rhythm before going fully autonomous.
