The Future of Connection: Will AI Replace Romance?

August 8, 2025Elena Rossi, CEO

It's a fair question, and one I get asked daily: "Isn't using AI to date... cheating?"

My answer is always the same: Is asking a friend to introduce you to someone "cheating"? Is hiring a matchmaker "cheating"?

Tools that help us connect are as old as humanity. The village matchmaker, the classified ad, the dating site, the swipe app. Each iteration reduced the friction of meeting people. AI is simply the next logical step in friction reduction.

The "Drudgery Gap"

The average single person spends 10 hours a week on dating apps. 90% of that time is spent on administrative tasks: swiping, filtering, copy-pasting "Hey, how are you?", and managing scheduling.

Only 10% is spent on actual connection—meeting face-to-face, or having a deep phone call.

WingAgent exists to delete the 90% so you can double down on the 10%. We believe that technology should do the robot work so humans can do the human work.

What's Next? Multimodal Dating

In the next 5 years, we see a shift away from text-first dating. AI will facilitate scheduling (already in beta), verify identity via blockchain (to kill catfishing), and perhaps even offer real-time coaching during video dates.

But the end goal remains the same: two human beings, sitting across a table, wondering if this might be "the one." No algorithm can replace that moment. And no algorithm should.

We're just here to make sure you get to that table more often.
